C.K. GALLAGHER

C.K. Gallagher has been an advocate for social justice and change since she left her hometown of Salinas in the 1960s. After traveling through Europe and attending the University of California at Berkeley, she joined other young activists in reimagining a more just society. Her first-hand account of the social movements of that time offers important lessons for those who continue to fight for the issues of the present, from climate change to racial, class, and economic inequality. Ms. Gallagher is a retired public school educator and divides her time between the San Francisco Bay Area and Plumas County in the Sierra Nevada mountains.
